Biography
Mazhit Tuleubekovich Yessenbayev
Was born in 1949. Graduated from Kazakh polytechnical institute named in honour of V.I. Lenin. Holds degree in economics. Candidate of Science in Economics, docent.
Started his professional carrier as Economist in the research institute on planning guidelines under the State Committee of Kazakh SSR, deputy chief of the Central planned-economic department at the Executive Committee of Karaganda regional Council of national delegates, deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of Karaganda regional Council of national delegates. Went on his carrier as the Chairman of Tax Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 1997 was appointed to a position of Akim of Karaganda region.
From 1999 served as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2002 was appointed as Minister of Economic Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2003 - Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2004 to 2008 - Akim of Akmola region.
From 2008 till present - Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Protection of Competition.
